Introduction
    Smart cards are credit-card-sized devices that carry an embedded microprocessor and memory that can store and process information. When inserted into a card reader, the smart card transfers data to and from applications.
    It is programmable. for example, it can be programmed to cease functioning if an incorrect password is entered more times than the present limit.  Smart cards have a wide range of applications including electronic purse, logical access control (PKI) and physical access control, e-mail encryption/decryption, digital signing and many more.
